Science Lab Transformation: IVCCD Board Greenlights $1.12M Cutting-Edge Upgrade

Marshalltown Community College Secures Major Science Lab Upgrade
In a strategic move to enhance educational facilities, the Iowa Valley Community College Board of Directors has greenlit a substantial $1.12 million investment in modernizing science laboratories at Marshalltown Community College (MCC).
During Wednesday's monthly board meeting, conducted virtually via Zoom, MCC Provost Matt Schmit presented the details of the ambitious renovation project. After carefully reviewing seven competitive bids, the board approved a proposal that came in slightly under the original $1.2 million estimated budget.
The lab upgrade represents a significant commitment to improving scientific education and research capabilities for MCC students, promising state-of-the-art learning environments that will support cutting-edge academic programs.
This investment underscores the college's dedication to providing high-quality educational resources and maintaining modern, technologically advanced learning spaces for its student body.
